Volkswagen started in the 1940s with revolving door handles to open the door from the inside.
With the introduction of the Volkswagen Type 3, the door handles were modernized and replaced with levers. Karmann Ghia followed this example in 1963, followed by the Beetle and the Bus in 1966 and 1967. At the same time, the lock was also modified to lock the door from the inside, the lock was carried out by means of a push button in the window frame and, for some models and/or years of manufacture, a push button that was mounted just above the handle to be pulled.
Despite the fact that this last system was very preventive, Volkswagen decided not to apply it as standard on all models, on some Volkswagen models it was even reversed into a pull-down button in the style of the window.
The frames are available in chrome (metal) and black (plastic).
Attention : The black plastic frames are different from the original, the removable caps are integrated, so you don't need the caps anymore.
Note : Check the picture with your existing door handle if it is a single shutter release or a combined shutter release and lock, depending on the shutter release model, a different frame is required. If the door has already been replaced, it is possible that the specified year of manufacture may no longer correspond, as we regularly find in convertibles.
